Matching Grant # 58229 - Rotary District 3790 - Philippines 
Supplemental Feeding Program

This matching grant project was the first developed between Rotary Districts 3790 and 6060. It was planned to commence and be running during 2005-2006 while our two districts were sharing in a Group Study Exchange together.

This project will fund a supplemental feeding program to help 800 malnourished children aged 4-12 in 16 rural schools within District 3790.

The Rotary Foundation is providing US $35,000 to fund this project. Volunteer Rotarians and school personnel will buy the food and share in the preparation. It costs approx. $18. a day to feed 50 children. This will occur in 16 feeding centers for six months.

Project was funded by Districts 379 in the Philippines and 6060 in Missouri. Rotary Club of Webster Groves agreed to be the primary international sponsor club.

The children get a nutritious meal as soon as they arrive for school. They were identified by a medical team as undernourished and are re-evaluated after three months. Some may grow out of the program and replaced by others.
