Matching Grant # 61649 - Rotary District 3160 - India 
School Equipment Project

This matching grant project is funding the purchase of school desks, blackboards, as well as teachers desks and chairs for several schools in rural India throughout the region of D3160.

This was one of the premier service projects between District 3160 and District 6060 during the 2006-2007 Rotary year, sponsored by District Governors Surendra Bommireddy and Stacey Self. We also partnered on a Group Study Exchange of young professionals between our two districts during the same Rotary year.

A total of 760 school desks and benches, 60 blackboards, and 60 teachers desks and chairs were planned to be purchased and presented to several rural schools throughout the district.  This will improve the facilities at nearly 25 separate schools in this region.
