Matching Grant #69200 Artificial Limb project in southern India |
|
This project will supply approximately 361 jaipur type limbs and 11 endoskeletal soft suction molded prosthetic limbs to poor people in southern India. The work will take place in towns of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. |

This was a joint project between the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Mid Town, India, District 3201 and the Rotary Club of Vandalia, Missouri, District 6060. Additional funding came from Rotary Districts 3201 and 6060 and The Rotary Foundation. This was a nearly US $15,000 project. |

| The first work done with this matching grant was to supply 24 limbs to people through the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Midtown's limb center. This was done from July 1 - July 20, 2009. Twelve people received above knee prosthetics and twelve received below knee prosthetics. |

From July 21 to August 1, 2009 a limb camp was held in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Tiruchirappalli Midtown, District 3000. Fifty-five people were helped, with 21 receiving above knee prosthetics and 34 receiving below knee prosthetics. |
