Holiday Food Boxes |
For nearly the last 30 years, the police chiefs of the area have worked together in an endeavor they call simply "Joint Charities". The students of Ritenour School District collect cans and boxes of food and then volunteers sort it and box it up to be distributed at the Christmas holiday season. The police chiefs add some milk, eggs, and fresh turkey or chickens to the boxes and then distribute to those in need.
For approximately the last 8 or 9 years, the Overland Rotary Club has met at the storage warehouse to help sort the food and/or assemble boxes of food for the project. |
